ebay can now sell you books you can’t buy anywhere else, as part of an effort to tackle online piracy.
The e-commerce giant said it will now make it easier to buy books from anywhere in the world, from Amazon to Amazon UK.
“EBay has been a key source of books for the millions of fans of football since it launched in 2006.
We are excited to make it even easier for customers to buy ebooks through our new shop,” the company said in a statement.
The move comes just weeks after it was revealed that e-books from publishers including Random House and HarperCollins had gone missing from e-book stores around the world.
Last month, Amazon said it had removed thousands of counterfeit e-readers from its site in an effort against illegal downloading.
This was after a report by the Electronic Frontier Foundation said thousands of pirate copies of popular games were being sold on its platform.
